LICSF Announces Alan Finkelstein Memorial Scholarship

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 18, 2025) — The Long Island Caddie Scholarship Fund is pleased to announce a new endowed scholarship established in honor of Alan Finkelstein. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who caddies or works in service to golf at Fresh Meadow Country Club, where Finkelstein was a longtime member.

Finkelstein was a respected leader in golf on Long Island and served as an active LICSF board member for nearly 25 years. He was president of the Long Island Golf Association from 2013-2014 and received the association’s Distinguished Service Award in 2022 in recognition of his lifetime commitment to the game on Long Island.

Following Finkelstein’s passing in 2024, members of Fresh Meadow Country Club, along with his close friends and family, raised the funds necessary to endow the scholarship. Donations are still being accepted for the Alan Finkelstein Memorial Scholarship, and contributions may be made online.
