LICSF Caddie Scholar Earns R&A Scholarship

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 1, 2024) – The Royal and Ancient Golf Club Scholarship announced its inaugural scholarship recipients and LICSF Caddie Scholar Timothy Manzello was one of 10 recipients. 

The R&A received over 200 applications worldwide for the first class of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club Scholarship.

Manzello is a sophomore at Penn State and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management alongside the PGA Professional Golf Management program in Happy Valley. He plans to combine his studies with continued golf volunteering and developing a not-for-profit apparel line available for first responders in recognition of their contribution to society and the opportunities golf provides to decompress from their demanding work schedules.

The 10 recipients hail from Ukraine, Canada, Hawaii, India, Northern Ireland, France, Nebraska, Long Island, New York, and the United Kingdom. 

“The Royal and Ancient Golf Club Scholarship is an incredible opportunity for young people to reach their potential through and for the game of golf,” said Jackie Davidson, the director of golf education at the R&A. “I am confident our inaugural group of scholars will be a fantastic group of committed ambassadors for the game and club.”
