LICSF Announces New Class of Scholars for 2024-2025 Academic Year

The 2024-25 class of new LICSF caddie scholars.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 7, 2024) – The Long Island Caddie Scholarship Fund is proud to announce its newest class of scholars for the 2024-25 academic year, featuring 30 young men and women representing 17 clubs from Long Island.

The 30 scholars, all who caddie or work in service to golf, will attend 27 different colleges and universities across the country as they continue their education.

The group will join a highly deserving list of young men and women from the nine-county area who will receive financial aid from the LICSF for the upcoming year.

“The challenges many of our scholars have had to overcome to achieve success, including through the COVID years, are inspirational,” said Melissa Rimpici, the Manager of Caddie Scholarship Funds.

A total of 95 scholars will receive a scholarship from the LICSF for the 2024-25 academic year with a tuition commitment of $240,000.

“While sustaining high grades, navigating unique family dynamics, or perhaps carrying three jobs, the commitment to golf from these young men and women did not waiver,” said Rimpici. We hope that as we, the LICSF, and our supporters rally for these individuals’ ultimate success, they will meet their goals, propelling them to greatness. We are the champions for their success.”

Since its inception in 1962, the LICSF has awarded nearly 1,000 men and women $4.9 million in scholarship aid. Those eligible for the scholarship are students who caddie or work in a ‘service to golf’—on the grounds crew, practice area, golf shop, bag room, or outside operations team—at golf courses across Long Island.
